Bringing Light to Extraordinary Lives

Umeed-e-Noor — meaning “Ray of Hope” — is a registered non-profit organization in Islamabad, Pakistan, dedicated to transforming the lives of children with severe and multiple disabilities. Founded in 1995 by Noori Hashwani, our centre provides comprehensive special education, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, vocational training, and full-time residential boarding for children who have no one else to turn to.

We serve children with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, hearing impairments, learning challenges, and more. Every child at Umeed-e-Noor receives an individualized program designed around their unique strengths and potential — because we believe that every child, regardless of ability, deserves a chance to shine.

Registered under the Islamabad Capital Territory Charities Act 2021 and approved by the Federal Board of Revenue as a Non-Profit Organization, Umeed-e-Noor holds the prestigious Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) Seal of Good Practice — a testament to our commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence.

Impact Spotlight

“When we first brought our daughter to Umeed-e-Noor, she couldn’t speak or make eye contact. Today, she greets me every morning with ‘good morning, mama.’ The speech therapy and education she received here changed everything. This place is truly a ray of hope for families like ours.”
